100 Brands, Ranked by Social Engagement – Report

A report and interactive site, ranks 100 of the most well know brand names and ranks them on their Social Engagement.

The product is called ENGAGEMENTdb, and is a collaboration between Charlene Li’s Altimeter Group and Ben Elowitz’s WetPaint. The database ranks brands based on their measured activity within 6 different types of social activity; Social Networking sites, Collaborative tools, Publishing, Image/Video/Audio Sharing, MicroBlogs, and Social Bookmarking.

The Top 5 Brands:
Starbucks Coffee Company, Dell, Ebay, Google, and Microsoft.

The Bottom 5:
Mercedes Benz, AXA, Wrigley, Allianz, and AIG
