ZombieLand Trailer; is this the Social Web’s “Snakes on a Plane”?

by Scott Hoffman on June 20, 2009

The 2006 release of Snakes on a Plane proved that word of mouth, especially when echoed through the internet can be a powerful marketing tool. The movie wasn’t good, but it exceeded all box office projections on it’s opening weekend. Along comes ZombieLand, the movie is scheduled for an October 2009 release, and I feel Deja Vu. I have the suspicion that we may be seeing a repeat of the Snakes on Plane internet hype, amplified by the growth of the Social Web over the last 3 years. In 2006 there were millions of people using the Social Web all shouting about Samuel L. Jackson in Snakes, today there are billions of people participating in Social Media…

And the fact of the matter is, who can resist Zombies, Van Halen, and Woody Harrelson. This is the trailer for ZombieLand. Max Brooks, maybe your vision is working out! Enjoy. (There is a brief advertisement before the trailer starts)
